Clarity for the journey.

Your anxiety, your relationship patterns, your career stress are connected to deeper questions about who you are and where you're going. Together, we'll work on all of it.

What I Can Help With

Individual and couples therapy for adults.

Anxiety &
Depression

Anxiety that keeps you stuck in your head. Depression that makes it hard to get through the day. We'll work on understanding what's behind these hard feelings, building insight and practical strategies to move forward.

Relationships, Self-Esteem & Identity

Recurring patterns in relationships, struggles with self-worth, questions about identity. Whether you're coming in on your own or with a partner, we'll work on how you connect with others and with yourself.

Life Transitions & Meaning

Graduating, switching careers, starting over. Questioning your faith or wondering what your life is supposed to add up to. If you're in the middle of a transition and need a place to think it through, that's what I'm here for.

Peter Paul, LCSW

About Peter

My background is in education, philosophy, and comparative religion. Not the typical path into therapy, but it means I take the day-to-day struggles as seriously as the bigger questions about your life.

I have my Masters in Social Work (MSW) from Fordham and five years of clinical experience. When you are in a session with me, you'll find someone who listens more than they talk, asks real questions, and doesn't pretend to have all the answers. We figure it out together.

The Therapy

Every session is shaped around you. Drawing from methods that are proven to help people move forward.

Understanding Patterns

Through psychodynamic and relational therapy, we explore the roots of what keeps showing up in your life: in your relationships, your sense of identity, and your search for meaning. The goal is lasting clarity, not just surface-level fixes.

Practical Tools

Using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and solution-focused techniques, we work on concrete strategies for the challenges in front of you, all while keeping the bigger picture in view.

Mindfulness and Grounding

Building your capacity to stay present, manage difficult emotions, and move through the world with more awareness and less reactivity.

“Peter took the time to deeply understand my past and the root causes of my anxiety, showing up consistently and with real care throughout the process. Through his patient, tailored approach, he helped me build a practical framework that has genuinely changed how I carry myself, allowing me to be more confident, outgoing, and at ease.”
Client

You don't have to keep carrying this alone.

What to Expect

New to therapy? Here are answers to the questions I hear most often.

The first session is about getting to know each other. I'll ask about what brought you to therapy, what you're hoping to get out of it, and what's been going on in your life. You'll get a sense of whether this feels like a good fit. There's no pressure. Think of it as a conversation, not an evaluation.
Sessions are either 45 or 60 minutes. Most people start weekly, and we adjust the frequency as things progress.
I offer telehealth (video) sessions throughout New York State and work in-person in Manhattan.
You don't need to be in crisis. If something in your life feels stuck or confusing and you want a space to work through it, that's enough reason.
It's about fit, not just credentials. The most important thing is whether you feel comfortable and heard. I offer a free consultation so you can get a sense of what working together would be like. No pressure, no commitment.
